Jax update! 3.5 years old!

Yes, it has been way too long since I have blogged.......life has been crazy and I'm going to try to include everything but I have a very small window of time to write with a 3.5 year old saying "mommy" every 2 seconds. :0)

We have moved to Atlanta and are really enjoying being closer to my family! It was quite an experience to move with 2 small children but we survived! Jax loves the house that we are renting and we were really lucky to find a house with a GREAT backyard and wonderful neighborhood! We are hoping to look for a house to buy sometime this year but honestly the thought of moving again makes me gag a little so it will have to be really great to light a fire under me to pack up again!

Jax has started school and really loves it! I on the other hand am missing his sweet school in Jacksonville but it will just take some adjustment. Funny that I'm having a hard time adjusting but Jax has already settled in. :0)

Speaking of Jax, he is just the funniest little guy. He's care-free, fun-loving, social, happy, silly, stubborn and busy! (I'll post about Whit soon!) He fell out of his bed last week and fractured his clavicle. Talk about sad! I woke up to a large thump and then a scream. Ran into his room and there he was on the floor. David and I put him back in bed but he just wouldn't stop crying so I turned on the light and his collar bone just didn't look quite right because there was a lump that hadn't been there before. Yuck! David took him to the er and I met them after my sister came to stay with Whit. (Whit had been running a fever for 2 days so I wasn't about to get him up in the middle of the night!) Sure enough, after x-rays, we found out Jax had fractured his clavicle. The Dr. said it was the best bone to break though since it would heal back well. He's in a sling for a few weeks but he has adjusted pretty well to it. I'm having some problems with my mac so here is a picture until I get a span of time to try to blog again! Isn't he handsome??! :0)

Whit at 8 months!

Our sweet little guy is 8 months! He's just a joy to be around all the time. Everyday I'm so thankful that we had a second baby. I feel like our lives are so full of joy (and craziness!!). Whit is laid back, HAPPY, loving, loves to be held and hugged, HAPPY, cheerful, did I mention HAPPY???! He loves Jax and laughs hysterically when Jax plays with him. He scrunches up his nose and closes his eyes when he smiles and it is just SO cute! He is all over the place and is getting faster at crawling. I'll post some more pictures when I have some more time. Here are some of Whit at the playground a few weeks ago.

4 months

We have the sweetest 4 month old on the planet! Whit is the sweetest baby! He talks and coos and smiles when we talk to him and just grins with his whole body when Jax talks to him. Its the best! Jax has started singing "Jesus loves me" to Whit every time he cries. It doesn't make him stop crying but it is really sweet! I am loving the difference in ages of our 2 boys. I feel like I get my sweet baby fix and then its time for Whit to sleep and Jax is ready to talk my ear off and play! I do feel like my head is spinning most of the time from all the things going on but I'm enjoying staying at home with them more than ever. I took Whit in for his 4 month checkup and he is up to 15.9 lbs. He is a big boy! Pretty sure we are still in the 90th percentile for weight and around there for length as well. (Forgot to ask about it this time.)

Here are some pictures that are not in any order!

We had Whit dedicated at church last Sunday. It was a sweet time for us to commit as a family to raise our children in the church and to lead them into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. I told Jax ahead of time that we were going to go up on the stage together and when they called our family up, he marched up there ahead of us like it was his job. He was so cute! He was very serious about standing up on the stage. As you can see, Whit was out cold!

Whit loves to stick his entire hand in his mouth. I caught him trying to get both hands in his mouth! Its so funny!

Here is Whit at his 4 month check up mid-drool. :0)

First pool experience....the water was a little cold but this little guy didn't complain!

I took Jax and his buddy Adam to ride the train and get a pretzel. They were absolutely thrilled!

Jax had his 1st sleepover at Adam's house. He took his buzz lightyear sleeping bag and we went and dropped him off after dinner. Adam's mom Carey is one of my very good friends here and she was so sweet to invite Jax over! Here they are in Adam's pirate tent with their flashlights. Adam's dad took them on a flashlight adventure. Adam told me they were looking for bats and Jax said they were looking for owls. These kids are hilarious!

Dazed after a night of little sleep (they fell asleep after 10 when Carey went in there to quiet them down :0) Carey got them matching pj's....Jax was thrilled!!

Big news!

Big news in our world! We are moving back to Atlanta July 1st! We found out about a month ago that David got a position there that he wanted. We have loved living in Jacksonville and have made some really good friends. It is going to be really hard to leave because so much has happened in our lives since we moved to Jacksonville. We have lived here for the majority of our marriage and have had 2 children while we've been here. Access Church has been a huge part of our lives and the people wehave met there have become our extended family. It is definitely going to be so hard to leave. We are also going to miss being so close to David's brother and his family. Jax loves being with his cousins, Reagan and Riley!

Even though we are sad to leave we are so excited to start this new chapter in our lives! David will still be working for Johnson & Johnson and he is excited about the new challenges and opportunity that the job will bring. We are going to be renting a house in Dunwoody (as long as we can find one!) for a while. We have lots to do before then! I'm on the hunt for a preschool, pediatrician, swim lessons, etc......any suggestions are welcome! I'll still be working for Dime since I work from home and they are based in Cumming. Its going to be a busy next few months! I've tried to start talking to Jax about the move but he just doesn't get it yet. He just responds with excitement, "I want to go now!" All he can think about is that he will get to play with his cousins Marshall and Mathis!

More on all that later! (What am I thinking?? I don't have time to sit here and type all morning!)

Last couple months

A lot has happened since I last blogged!

We went to the zoo with Jax's class and he got to ride the school bus! He was so excited! I was able to go without Whit so I could just hang out with Jax and we had a great time! Here he is with his best friend Adam!

We celebrated Easter with David's parents, grandfather and brother and his family. His parents met Whit for the first time. It was so good to see them! We colored Easter eggs and had an Easter egg hunt! It was fun!

We went to Santa Barbara on a trip that David won through work. It was a blast! We stayed at the Four Seasons in Santa Barbara and it was an absolutely beautiful hotel! We hung out with some of David's coworkers and had a great time. We saw Jeff Bridges at dinner one night which was very cool! We went on a segway tour of Santa Barbara and it was so fun! If you ever get the chance to do it, you should! I didn't think it would be quite as fun as it was! I got a massage and a pedicure and was absolutely spoiled!

Not a comfortable piece of driftwood :0)

Jax and Whit stayed at my Mom and Dad's house. Everything went really well! I missed them so much and was so happy to be back home after a week away!

I missed these faces!

We've survived the first 8 weeks!

Whit had his 8 week checkup yesterday. He's doing great! He's 11lbs and 24 inches long. He's in the 50th percentile for weight and 90th percentile for length. He's sleeping really well and goes about 6-8 hours at night between feedings. I'd say that is pretty awesome!! I'm praying we continue to have some good sleep at night! Here are some pictures of him from today. I added a picture of Jax when he was 8 weeks old. He was a little smaller than Whit is now. Jax was in the 25th percentile for weight and 75th for length at this point. I don't think they could look any different! Jax with his red hair and dark brown eyes, and Whit with his dark brown hair and blue eyes.

Whit is smiling more and more! Its such a nice reward!

I could eat that chin! He's so yummy!
My sweet little Jax. Its hard to believe he's such a big boy now.
This picture was taken right after Whit was born. Jax is such a happy kid!

Jax is 3 & Whit is 7 weeks!

We've had an eventful 7 weeks since Whit arrived. It has been quite an adjustment but we are settling into a routine which is really nice! Jax has become a little easier to deal with now that he has gotten used to Whit being in the picture. Jax turned 3 this past Saturday and he had a great time with some friends and family. It is so hard to believe that he is 3! I'm already so proud of the big boy that he has become!

Whit will be 7 weeks old tomorrow! Geez! How crazy to think how fast it has gone by but how slow it felt at the time :0). Whit is SUCH a sweet baby! He definitely likes a routine like the rest of his family which has made planning my days much easier to handle. He's starting to stretch his sleeping at night to about 6 hours which is wonderful! Also, he and Jax are usually sleeping at the same time around 2:00 in the afternoon so that gives me some time to myself which has been really nice to say the least! Most days I don't feel like I stop until then!

Here are some pictures!

We went to the beach a few weeks ago and the weather was beautiful!

Is it time to go back to sleep yet?

Seriously, why am I awake?

Hmmm, I wonder why this snack is so gritty....

Jax with his new bike and "mote contro car". Thanks, Kaitlyn! He loves that car!

Why won't these candles blow out?! (I think he spit on half the cake. :0) It was so funny!!)

Whit is here!

Whit decided he wanted to come early! I was scheduled to have a c-section on Friday the 28th but Monday evening about 7:30 my water broke. I called the dr. and they told us to come to the hospital to get checked out. We called David's brother to come over and watch Jax while we went to the hospital. We were both sure that itwas possibly a false alarm and that we would come back home. (And you say how could it be a false alarm?? I don't know, we just thought it might be :0) We called David's brother to come stay with Jax, jumped in the car (without any bags packed of course) and headed to the hospital. The nurse checked to see if my water had actually broken and it had. Then they said, "when did you eat last?" Well I had eaten at 6:30 of course so they informed us they had to wait 6 hours until they could do the csection. The waiting was the worst. I started having contractions and they gave me something to stop them. That was very helpful! So at about 2 am they came into get me for my csection. David was so great and encouraging through everything!

Whit was born at 2:40 am on Tuesday. He weighed 7lbs 11oz and was 21 inches long. He has dark brown hair and blue eyes. I'm really hoping he keeps his blue eyes! We can't figure out who he looks like yet. :0)

Here are some pictures from the hospital. Luckily our friend Brian got some good shots!
So far Jax has been a good big brother. He definitely knows things are different around here. I think so far the hardest part of having a newborn again has been knowing how to teach Jax through "the 2's" and also making sure he gets the attention he needs through this huge change in our family. I guess we will all learn together.
