Christmas at our house!
The latest
Hey everybody! Well, this is our first post so I'll just update you on what has been going on. We'll make sure we post pictures here and updates. We want to be able to share our lives with our family and friends that are spread out all over! Please feel free to respond to the posts! We would love to hear from all of you!
Today I'm almost 29 weeks. It was a pretty uneventful pregnancy (besides morning sickness) until about 24 weeks when the Dr's found a blood clot in my upper thigh because I was having severe pain in my leg. (As far as I've heard, that isn't very common). The clot was very painful but the Dr's put me on Lovenox to thin my blood to treat it. Since I have been on the treatment, the pain is almost completely gone. Praise God! The only downside is that David has to give me the Lovenox through a shot everyday..... Not so fun. I haven't gotten used to that yet because it burns pretty bad when the medicine goes in. I'm still having trouble walking and my leg is staying swollen but I'm able to get around the house now and when I know I have to go farther than across the house, I usually use my crutches. I'm not supposed to drive for now but the good thing about that is my driver is really cute! (That would be David!) I'm seeing my regular ob, a high risk ob and a hematologist to make sure that the baby is ok and that this blood clot is under control. (Another plus is that we will get to see an ultrasound of the baby every 4 weeks until he is born.) After I have the baby I'll be tested for any blood clotting disorders that could have caused this thing. (I'm praying that this is just a fluke and not something more.)
This has been one of the hardest things David and I have been through as a couple. I'm so ready for this to be over and I want to know that everything is going to be ok with the baby and with my leg. Thanks so much for your prayers and phone calls.
Well, that was really long! I'll try not to write such long ones in the future!
